Plan a Project
The District Chairs will be able to advise you on the process, and also put you in touch with Clubs in your District who have undertaken similar projects in the past, or who may be interested in partnering with you in your project.
The Project Coordinator will be able to advise on process of completing and lodging a RAWCS appplication.
Factors to consider in planning your project include:
Is there a Rotary Club close to your project area? Our preferred approach is to partner with a Rotary Club in the area and enlist the help of its members in advising on the suitability of the project, helping to monitor project and, where appropriate, help to manage the funds.
-
Are you planning to partner with another charitable organisation? If so, it may have a track record with RAWCS that will assist with your planning.
-
Will the project required government approvals overseas? If so, have you planned a process for obtaining these?
-
Will your Club's major role be in providing funding, or are you also planning to send volunteers to assist with the project?
-
Who will be your club's nominated project manager ?
-
What plan do you have for monitoring and reporting on progress?
Download the project application forms. The forms are provided in both Word (in table form for entering data electronically) and in .PDF for printing out and entering the details by hand.
When your form is completed, with the necessary signatures, send it to the Project Coordinator, who will sponsor it through the RAWCS approval processes.
The project is first considered by the Regional Committee then, if approved, forwarded to the National Project Coordinator for allocation of a national project number. This is the number to quote for tax deductibility of donations.
If you're looking for ideas, have a look at our Ideas Page . It includes suggestions developed through RAWCS connections within Western Region and overseas -- i.e. projects looking for a Club to sponsor and/or manage them.
